Miss Lillian’s Prevention Primer is a shellac-based stain-blocking primer designed to stop troublesome bleed-through before it reaches your finished paint surface. It’s especially useful on dark woods such as cherry and mahogany, as well as projects with tannins, old stains, water marks, or other discoloration that may migrate through lighter paint colors.

Use Prevention when you suspect your project may bleed through, particularly before painting light colors over dark or heavily stained wood. Miss Lillian’s also recommends Prevention as part of its cabinet-prep system when extra stain blocking is needed.
